The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enters into force on the 25 May 2018. The GDPR has been described as the most important change to data privacy regulations in 20 years, but does it boost or hinder Europe’s ability to fully embrace the potential of a digital economy?

Our ‘What the Chiefs Say’ debate with Giovanni Buttarelli, European Data Protection Supervisor, offers our members insight into these questions, and the opportunity to better assess the effects of the EU’s new regulatory standards, not only for businesses and organisations in the EU but also around the world. Where does the GDPR put Europe in the global race for a digital economy?
