Peace, Security & Defence

Participate in our transatlantic essay contest and become a Junior Delegate at our Peace, Security and Defence Summit this year!

To engage young voices from both sides of the Atlantic, Friends of Europe invites students and young professionals from Europe and North America to participate in the first edition of our transatlantic essay contest.

The topic is: how can the Euro-Atlantic community revive global multilateral cooperation in the age of de-globalisation and regionalisation?

The author of the most inspiring and original essay will be invited to the Peace, Security and Defence Summit, taking place on 17 November 2022 in Brussels. Friends of Europe will pay for the winner’s travel expenses and accommodation in Brussels from 16 November 2022 to 19 November 2022. The winning piece will be published on Friends of Europe’s website and the winner will be interviewed for an episode of our #CriticalThinkingLive series.

  • Participants must be aged 28 or younger.
