The Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation launches Europe28

Brussels, 17 February — The newly established Jacques Delors Friends of Europe Foundation launches Europe28: One Europe – One Market – For All, a pan-European initiative to complete the EU Single Market by 2028.

In an era of geopolitical volatility, Europe cannot afford fragmentation or complacency. Completing the EU Single Market is the safest, fastest and most powerful way to strengthen Europe’s economy — a necessary condition to increase its security and better protect its citizens.

Europe28 will establish a broad Coalition of Action bringing together businesses, trade unions, universities, civil society, financial institutions and EU policymakers. The coalition will work towards one shared objective: delivering measurable progress on the Single Market within the lifetime of the current European Commission.

The initiative will mobilise public and political demand, provide concrete policy solutions and legislative input, and promote accountability through clear benchmarks. Its roadmap aligns with the Letta report, the European Commission’s competitiveness agenda and the European Council’s priorities on resilience and growth.

Throughout 2026, the Foundation and its partners will convene key moments across Europe to build political momentum, supported by policy analysis, citizen engagement and strategic advocacy.

The JDFoE Foundation will establish a Coalition of Action to organise a shared voice and common agenda for engagement on the Single Market. You can get involved at different levels:

1. Sign up to the Coalition of Action and support with your network and insights (associations or institutions only)
2. Support specific events and activities as an event partner
3. Support the entire year’s programme of activities and the roadmap for action
4. Become a strategic multi-annual partner for the JDFoE Foundation
