Statement on the passing of Count Etienne Davignon

On behalf of Friends of Europe we express our profound sadness at the passing of Count Etienne Davignon.

A European statesman who was at the helm of many institutions, agencies and businesses, “Stevy” Davignon was the former president of Friends of Europe and hosted our annual President’s Dinner before our flagship, State of Europe, where he was a regular feature known for his canny insights. He leaves a big footprint in Brussels and across Europe.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
