Friends of Europe mourns the loss of Jason Arday

We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Jason Arday, a much-valued member of Friends of Europe’s European Young Leaders (EYL40) community.

Jason joined the European Young Leaders programme in 2024, bringing with him not only his remarkable achievements as a scholar and Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Cambridge, but also his deep commitment to challenging inequality and creating opportunities for others.

We will remember Jason above all as a wonderful human being, whose warmth, generosity and determination left a lasting impression on our community. We are profoundly affected by his loss and by everything he endured.

Our thoughts are with his wife and children, his family, friends and all those who knew and loved him.
