Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo – Vite svelate

About

Friends of Europe is proud to once again partner the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo for its 2025 edition. The festival is curated by Alessandro Fusacchia, former member of the Italian Parliament and 2013 European Young Leader (EYL40).

Vite Svelate. Esporsi/Scoprirsi, is the theme of the third edition of the Festival of Contemporary Thought, which will take place in Piacenza, Italy, between 11-14 September.

The Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo represents, year after year, Piacenza’s growing ability to establish itself as a place for reflection and dialogue on the major issues of our time. It is not just a cultural event, but a collective project that brings together institutions, cultural organisations, economic actors and citizens.

The programme offers the opportunity to engage in over 80 debates, meetings, lessons and philosophical concerts spread across the city. Previously, the festival hosted more than 20,000 citizens and hopes to bring in more this year.

This festival offers an emotional and cognitive journey towards introspection and emotional vulnerability as a source of strength and awareness, guided by more than 200 prominent Italian and international guests including artists, scientists, writers, intellectuals, economists, entrepreneurs, representatives from public institutions and civil society organisations.

Guest speakers include European Young Leaders (EYL40) such as the CEO of Thomson Reuters Foundation Antonio Zappulla, Editor-in-Chief of the Kyiv Independent Olga Rudenko, Dutch Public Prosecutor Disa Jironet, Albanian Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Megi Fino, Italian-Israeli cross-cultural entrepreneur Liel Maghen, Director of the Dyne.org Foundation Denis “Jaromil” Roio, and Founder and Director of Union of Justice Magid Magid.

Our citizen engagement unit Debating Europe will contribute to the festival by leading an interactive workshop with citizens on intergenerational fairness, connecting the impact of our demographic challenges with young citizens’ concerns about the future.

The festival is open to everyone, additional information on the programme and on how to register to each session will be published on the website of the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo.
