Following the publication of the Emissions Measurement in the Automotive Sector Inquiry (EMIS) Committee’s draft inquiry report and recommendations in late December, join Committee Chair Kathleen van Brempt MEP to discuss the Committee’s findings, proposed ways to control, measure and reduce road transport emissions, and how to restore trust in the wake of the “Dieselgate” scandal.
About What the Chiefs Say: This exclusive series of events brings together small groups of our senior-level members to discuss topical issues with a key decision-maker. These roundtable conversations will feature influential figures from international institutions, parliaments, governments, business, NGOs and the media. In each 60-minute session, members will have a chance to put their questions to those who call the shots. The events are insightful and interactive, tackling the burning issues of the day. Member of the European Parliament
Kathleen Van Brempt is a Member of the European Parliament for the Belgian social democratic sp.a party. She is the Vice-President responsible for sustainable development of the Socialist and Democrats Group Bureau. Van Brempt has served as the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee of Inquiry into Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS). She was also State Secretary for Labour Organisation and Welfare in the Belgian federal government and Minister for Mobility, Social Economy and Equal Opportunities in the Flemish government. Additionally, Van Brempt is a member of the city council of her hometown Antwerp, in Belgium.
