Friends of Europe and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will host the launch of the 2016 G-FINDER report in Brussels on 16 February. Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will be among the speakers at this event, alongside senior government, industry and NGO representatives.
Conducted by Policy Cures Research and funded by the Gates Foundation, G-FINDER has tracked and reported on investment into neglected disease R&D since 2008.
At a time when development and health research funding is coming under political pressure, the report provides a unique window into the global funding landscape for innovation in global health and aims to help determine the next steps for R&D in Europe and the world.
The event will look in particular at how Europe can maximise its financial resources to identify and meet the global health challenges of the future and meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which seek the end of epidemics of HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and other neglected infectious diseases that kill nearly seven million people each year, often due to a lack of effective tools for prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
The event is fully booked but you can follow our live coverage of the event on Twitter at @friendsofeurope and via the hashtag #innovate4health.
