Developing an effective energy policy mix is an increasingly pressing concern in an age of diminishing natural resources and heightened environmental stress. Should the R&D budget be spent on investing in renewables or on decarbonisation of existing fossil-fuel based economies? In a time of economic austerity how should smart grid development best be financed and what other infrastructure investments are needed? On 18 November, Friends of Europe will organise an Energy Policy Summit in coordination with the International Energy Agency at which the findings of the World Energy Outlook 2010 will be presented. Sessions will explore the real potential and constraints of renewable energy, the significance of Caspian oil and gas reserves for European energy security, as well as the upcoming EU Energy Infrastructure Package.
Partnership opportunities for this Energy Summit are still available. Contact us for more information.
