Launch
Shell Energy Scenarios to 2050
Monday, April 07, 2008 - Bibliothèque Solvay

With global energy demand likely to double by 2050, what will be the path to a sustainable energy future?

Friends of Europe cordially invites you to a presentation and debate of the Shell Energy Scenarios to 2050 as they offer a valuable perspective on these questions.

Royal Dutch Shell’s renowned energy scenarios have been prepared, for many years, to help energy experts and thought leaders around the world anticipate the evolution of global energy supply and demand. Shell’s 2008 energy scenarios chart two plausible ways in which the globe’s sources and uses of energy may evolve over the next half-century. These two scenarios, Scramble and Blueprints, show how the world will grapple with three hard truths: the surge in global energy demand, the end of easily accessible oil and increasing environmental stresses including the impact of greenhouse gas emissions.
