European Policy Summit
In Search of Global Green Policies
Wednesday, June 04, 2008 - Charlemagne Building, Brussels

On the occasion of Green Week 2008, Friends of Europe is to co-organise a one-day European Policy Summit together with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Environment, Unilever, the European Confederation of Iron and Steel Industries (Eurofer) and Gallup, with the support of the European Information and Communications Technology Association (EICTA), Dow, Volvo and Tetra Pak. This high-level international event will be held at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels on Wednesday, 4 June 2008.

The summit will discuss whether we can reconcile sustainability with global economic growth and if the time has come for the EU to turn its moral leadership on the environment into a credible industrial strategy. Furthermore, we will address questions on whether the EU could turn its green leadership into a global economic opportunity and if business is realising its green potential.

After the success of our previous Green Week Summits, this year’s event will gather some 250 EU, international and national senior representatives, business leaders, social partners, academia and members of the international press.
