Millenium international documentary film festival
Friends of Europe is supporting the third edition of the Millennium International Documentary Film Festival which will take place in Brussels on 8 – 14 June. At the turn of the new millennium, heads of states and governments made a pledge to achieve the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. These goals deal with issues concerning extreme poverty, illiteracy, women rights and climate change. As the target date of 2015 is swiftly approaching, it is of paramount importance that these goals are urgently tackled and supported and action reinvigorated.

The ‘Millennium’ Film Festival aims to support this message through the insightful art of documentary film-making. Films can have the extraordinary power to inspire change and to bring together individuals of all backgrounds to discuss and exchange ideas and to take an active role in meeting these indispensable goals. For this reason, the ‘Millennium’ Festival present innovative documentary films whose themes relate to the 8 Millennium Development Goals and bring together people from all backgrounds to exchange ideas and to debate over fundamental questions.
