  This one-day Summit brought together senior European policymakers, government representatives, international organisations, civil society, business and trade representatives, and members of the international press. This interesting cross section of senior personalities made an important contribution to the debate on tackling the energy challenge. The aim of the European Policy Summit was to bring together different stakeholders to discuss Europe’s energy realities, the impact of today’s level of research and development on climate change, and the global energy framework needed after 2012.
