What is an optimal level of industrial consolidation in Europe?
Monday, November 25, 2002 - Brussels, Madrid, Copenhagen and Gdansk

Differences of opinion in EU member states over mergers and takeovers have produced an uneven patchwork of consolidations in various key sectors. Now that the euro is pushing us towards a single EU economy, how soon will we see a new consensus on the right levels of industrial consolidation?

Caracteristics of the European Trialogue Debate:

- The European Trialogue: speakers represent at least 3 points of view (from one or more of the EU institutions, industry, civil society, etc)
- Lively and genuine debates featuring speakers with opposing views.
- Pre-debate drinks and Meeting Point networking.
- Café-style seating in small groups of 4 people to encourage an easy and informal atmosphere.
- Set speeches limited to 5-8 minutes, followed by an interview session with 2 moderators.
- Regular appearances of "non-Brussels" policymakers.
